Sue Murphy's leadership has seen the Water Corporation develop into a world leader in the field of water supply by desalination. An innovative approach to contracting strategies has brought international design expertise into working alliances with local construction and operating expertise to design, build, commission and operate West Australia's first major desalination plant in Cockburn Sound. The success of this plant is now flowing on to a second plant about to be constructed south of Perth. International interest has been created by the manner in which Sue Murphy's team has approached these projects and with the very latest in technology employed in them.
